Compton Terrace (1)

Compton Terrace was an amphitheater owned by Jess Nicks, father of Stevie Nicks. It was originally located on the grounds of Legend City from 1979 until its closing in 1983. A new Compton Terrace opened next to Firebird International Raceway in Chandler, Arizona in 1985.

Sun City Girls

The Sun City Girls were an American experimental rock band, formed in 1979 in Phoenix, Arizona. From 1981 the group consisted of Alan Bishop (bass guitar, vocals), his brother Richard Bishop (guitar, piano, vocals) and the late Charles Gocher (drums, vocals). Their name was inspired by Sun City, Arizona, an Arizona retirement community.

The Tubes

The Tubes are a San Francisco-based rock band, whose 1975 debut album included the hit single, "White Punks on Dope". During its first fifteen years or so, the band's live performances combined quasi-pornography with wild satires of media, consumerism and politics.

Flotsam & Jetsam

Flotsam and Jetsam is a thrash metal band from PHX. The band's original name was Paradox, but was changed in 1982 when bassist Jason Newsted joined.

Meat Puppets

Meat Puppets are an American rock band formed in January 1980, in Phoenix. The group's original lineup was Curt Kirkwood (guitar/vocals), his brother Cris Kirkwood (bass guitar) and Derrick Bostrom (drums).
