Marie Knight (born Marie Roach) was an American gospel and R&B singer.

Jesse Lee Turner is a former American pop singer. He recorded songs for several labels in the late 1950s, including the one-hit wonder "Little Space Girl".

LaVern Baker was an American rhythm and blues singer, who had several hit records on the pop chart in the 1950s and early 1960s. Her most successful records were "Tweedlee Dee" (1955), "Jim Dandy" (1956), and "I Cried a Tear" (1958).

Wade Flemons was an American soul singer. Flemons began recording solo work in 1958, but is best remembered for his work as a musician and vocalist in Earth, Wind & Fire between 1970 and 1973. Some of Flemons' songs away from the group are still revived, especially with the Northern Soul movement in the UK, notably "That Other Place" and "Jeanette", recorded in 1968.

Little Anthony & The Imperials is a vocal group first active in the 1950s. Lead singer Jerome Anthony "Little Anthony" Gourdine was noted for his high-pitched falsetto voice, influenced by Jimmy Scott. The group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2009.
