Curtis Mayfield

Curtis Lee Mayfield was an American soul, R&B and funk singer, songwriter and record producer. He is best known for his anthemic music with The Impressions during the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s and for composing the soundtrack to the blaxploitation film Super Fly.

Bo Diddley

Ellas Otha Bates, known by his stage name Bo Diddley, was an American rhythm and blues vocalist, guitarist, songwriter (usually as Ellas McDaniel) and inventor. He was known in particular for his technical innovations, including his trademark rectangular guitar.

Al Kooper

Al Kooper (born Alan Peter Kuperschmidt) is an American songwriter, record producer and musician. He is known for organizing Blood, Sweat & Tears, providing studio support for Bob Dylan when he went electric in 1965 and bringing together guitarists Mike Bloomfield and Stephen Stills to record the Super Session album. He has had a successful solo career since then, written music for film soundtracks and has also lectured in musical composition.
