Redd Kross

Redd Kross, a rock band from Hawthorne, California had their roots in 1978 in a band called The Tourists begun by Jeff and Steve McDonald while the brothers were still in middle school. With the addition of friends Greg Hetson and Dave Keller on guitar and John Stielow on drums, the band's first gig was opening for Black Flag.

45 Grave

45 Grave is an American punk rock band from LA. They are noted as one of the first bands to mix punk rock with horror-themed lyrics, thereby positioning them as progenitors of the horror punk subgenre. Their unique appearance and morbid theatricality also distinguished them as innovators of goth rock as well as "deathrock," a term used to identify a subgenre of punk rock incorporating horror elements and spooky atmospherics.

Nig-Heist

The Nig-Heist was a punk band led by Black Flag's roadie and live sound man and SST Records employee Steve "Mugger" Corbin and featuring a revolving-door roster of members of the bands who were on tour with Black Flag at the moment.

Testament

Testament is an American metal band from Berkeley. They were formed in 1983 by guitarist Eric Peterson and his cousin, vocalist/guitarist Derrick Ramirez, originally using the name Legacy.

Megadeth

Megadeth is an American heavy metal band formed in 1983 by guitarist/vocalist Dave Mustaine, bassist Dave Ellefson and guitarist Greg Handevidt following Mustaine's expulsion from Metallica.

Possessed

Possessed is an American death metal band, originally formed in 1983. Noted for their fast style of playing and Jeff Becerra's guttural vocals, they are routinely called the first band in the death metal genre.

Dark Angel

Dark Angel was an American thrash metal band from California. Their over-the-top style (extremely fast, heavy and lengthy songs with lots of tempo changes, lyrics and extended instrumental parts) earned them the nickname "the L.A. Caffeine Machine". After releasing four full-length albums and touring extensively throughout the 1980s and early 1990s, Dark Angel disbanded in 1992. They decided to reform ten years later, however, Ron Rinehart's vocal issues after an accident forced them to cancel plans to tour further. The band has been on an indefinite hiatus since then.

Iron Butterfly

Iron Butterfly is a US psychedelic rock band best known for the 1968 hit "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida". Their heyday was the late 1960s, but the band has been reincarnated with various members. In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida is the 31st best-selling album in the world, selling more than 25 million copies.
